The Academic Department consists of New Mexico certified Teachers for Grades K-12. The school is accredited through North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement, a division of AdvancED. Being a BIE Reads and Math Counts school we have employed a Reading Coach and a Math Coach. We joined these programs to help us help students to increase student achievement in the critical areas of Reading and Math.
The school also has contracted consultants to work with Administration and Academic staff to increase student achievement. We have two consultants who came one week per month for the SY 2010-2011 to model teaching strategies, implement intervention programs, and analyze data results from the numerous assessments given to the students as outlined on the Assessment Calendar. This Curriculum Guide is aligned with the New Mexico State Standards per grade level and subjects taught in the Mid and High School level. This Curriculum Specialist meets with each staff member on a quarterly basis to document the objectives taught for the quarter and documented on the weekly lesson plans.
